D.C. CHILLIN

This weekend I headed down to D.C. for my first ever post-grad trip to Georgetown. In between brunching, partying, and reminiscing, I did a lot of shopping—like, a LOT of shopping. So for those of you who like OOTD posts best, get excited for some upcoming looks.

After a rainy Saturday, my best friend Jojo (you know, co-owner of major tailgate apparel brand lo + jo? peep their insta) decided to seize the sunny weather and head to one of my favorite spots, Union Market, for some snacks and—inevitably—some photos. Shout out to Jojo for taking these pics!

The obvious focus of this outfit is my crazy-fun candy striper blouse, purchased from H&M! So obsessed with this shape, but I'd been hesitating to splurge on one for fear I couldn't pull it off. When I saw this low-priced version, I quite literally tried it on in the dressing room and then proceeded to wear it out of the store. I was a little wary of pairing the red with the final remains of my pink hair, but the faded-out vibe of the hair blended in a way that really worked!

Pro tip: when you don't have a bag, pose with your activated charcoal-infused juice, naturally.

What I love about this outfit is that it really took me out of my comfort zone style-wise. I used to really hesitate to wear mom jeans for anything other than bum days, but now I love styling them for fun looks, regardless of the fact that they're not necessarily "flattering". This pair from H&M is my current favorite, since it's pretty spacious for the booty but fits tightly at my waist. Finding a pair that manages to do both has been life-changing. I wish they came in a more flattering dark wash, but in the meantime I'm debating buying and DIY-ing a second pair for fall!

Yet another inexpensive item in this cute ensemble (followed by one very expensive item, granted): my cat-eye sunnies from Forever 21! As someone with a tendency to break glasses, I really like heading to F21 for cheap glasses that look cute. People almost always assume they're Quays based off of the shapes I choose, so I love getting to disclose that they're under $10! My belt is Gucci, but I can't find the exact one online, so here's one with the interlocking Gs, here's one with the same brown leather, and here's one with the more worn-in metal look, which I prefer with brown belts as opposed to a high-shine golden finish!

On my feet, I kept it comfy with my new loafers by Dolce Vita. This is my second pair (peep my OG tan suede pair in my haul!) and I'm really loving them. I think they'll be perfect for transitioning into fall looks, and I have a feeling someone will have to try to stop me from rocking these all winter long, with no regard for my chilly ankles.

Are you wondering at all about my cute background? It's a wall at Union Market, and it's a very popular spot for snapping an Instagram or two. Hope you enjoyed this OOTD and are looking forward to more (read: Fashion Week OOTDs coming v soon!)
