SUMMER OF SUEDE

Maybe it's just me, but I've always been someone who associated suede with the fall and winter months. When I think suede, I picture over-the-knee boots and chic hobo bags - so imagine my surprise when I realized suede was the hottest trend in 2017 summer footwear. No complaints here, though, and to prove my newfound love of summertime suede, I picked up a few new pairs of shoes to add to my collection.

First on my list were these light tan mules by the brand Dolce Vita. Unless you live under a rock, you're likely obsessed with the Gucci mules that basically broke the internet - but at a hefty $600+, it's safe to say these slides were out of my price range. This pair is my homage to the look, and so far I'm absolutely loving them!

These mules are perfect for me because of their color - it's similar enough to my skin tone to be the perfect finishing touch to any outfit!

This next pair of espadrilles are beyond beautiful, and with the mustard yellow craze going stronger than ever, I knew they'd be the perfect statement shoe to add to my summer collection. These slides are by Marc Fisher, and they're as comfy as they are cute.

If you're looking to make a statement with your shoes but are hesitant about rocking bright colors, yellow is the ideal option. It's bright enough to get you noticed, but similar enough to a tan or cream to still be worn as a neutral. I'd also recommend blush pink as a stylish but safe pop of color for footwear!

This last pair of suede shoes are undoubtedly my new go-to's - these Sam Edelman sandals can be worn with everything from baggy boyfriend jeans and a tee to any interview-ready work outfit. The block heel is small enough to make them casual, but essential in adding some height to my 5'1" frame.

These beauties also came in a nude and even a denim, and I'm already considering picking up another pair!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little suede-centered shoe haul. Expect to see these babies on heavy rotation in my upcoming summer OOTDs!
