...AND IT WAS ALL YELLOW

I'm sure you noticed mustard was a mega-popular color last fall, but now its bright little sister has stepped up as summer's hottest shade: cue vibrant banana yellow. I admit, at first this felt totally out of my comfort zone, not to mention the idea of rocking it with my often all-black ensembles seemed destined to make me look like a bumble bee. However, I've decided to work in the trend step by step, starting with some small accessories. If you saw my recent shoe haul, you know I snagged some gorgeous yellow platform espadrilles, but for this particular OOTD I went with one of my all-time favorite statement bags for the perfect pop of yellow.

Unfortunately, they no longer make this summery shade, but that won't stop me from recommending the Fleming Shoulder Bag by Tory Burch as a seriously amazing piece for dressing up any outfit. Right now, the bag comes in a ton of cute everyday neutrals, plus a stunning cornflower blue and a hot pink with snake-effect leather. Color me obsessed. But full disclosure - if I buy another Fleming to add to my collection, it will of course be the matte black version. Swoon.

Believe it or not, this unique denim dress is from H&M! It was part of their HM x Coachella Collection this spring, and while this particular style is now sold out, the skirt and denim jacket versions are still online - the jacket's even on sale! Madewell made a similar denim wrap dress sans floral appliqués. I know it might not be everyone's taste, but this wrap dress was a cute look for brunch with a friend - speaking of, shout out to Jojo for these photos!

Leaves brunch, immediately buys a pastry...did it for the pic, okay?! Don't judge.

Besides the bag and the dress, I chose to keep things simple. To minimize cleavage, I opted for this lacy bralette by Aerie. I love using this turquoise as a summertime neutral, and it adds another fun pop of color without clashing. On my feet, I'm wearing my trusty suede mules by Steve Madden.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little summertime OOTD! Here's to embracing sunshine yellow all summer long.
