I've done a ton of Kylie Cosmetics reviews in the past, and to be completely honest, I thought I was done purchasing Kylie's beauty products. Don't get me wrong - I love all my lip kits, but because I've got a ton, I imposed a no-spend on myself for all things liquid lipstick. Lo and behold, Kylie must've heard word of my self-imposed ban, because she immediately launched my dream collab, and I instantly swiped my credit card. No regrets, TBH.
If you don't already know, Kim Kardashian West is one of my favorite celebrities, despite her many haters. Say what you will, but I consider her a social symbol and icon, as well as a majorly successful business woman - whether you love her or hate her, you know an awful lot about her, right? The girl's got clout. I also really like her vibes as far as style and, of course, makeup. When I heard Kylie was releasing some lip products inspired by and in collaboration with KKW herself, I knew I'd need to add them to my collection. Once I saw the millennial pink matte packaging, I was beyond sold.
I'd like to take a moment to note this perfect packaging. Even my packing slip was millennial pink. Swoon.
The products themselves aren't the usual matte, transfer-proof liquid lips, but what Kylie Cosmetics has branded as "crime liquid lipsticks". To be completely honest, they look, apply, and wear like lip gloss. Granted, an extremely creamy, fairly opaque, and not at all sticky lip gloss, but a lip gloss nonetheless. This isn't a bad thing, but it's important to note if you are expecting anything otherwise. Because they aren't 100% opaque and tend to feather a bit around the edges of the lips, I recommend adding a nude lip liner to your collection if you plan to invest in these beauties.
The colors are all named after Miss KKW herself: Kimberly, Kimmie, Kim, and Kiki. I'm not sure if this represents a lack of creativity, or if she is just that self-obsessed, but either way I think it is hysterical in the best way possible, despite it being sort of hard to remember which lipstick I've applied. I'd also like to point out that, though Kim and Kylie gush over these colors as the perfect nudes, on my skin tone each shade is undoubtedly a bright pink. Totally gorgeous, but also very far from "nude" in any sense of the word.
From bottom to top: Kimberly, Kimmie, Kim, and Kiki.
Overall, I'm glad to add these products to my Kylie Cosmetics collection, and if you're a fan of a fun gloss for summer, these are amazing options for on-the-go application. I've thrown a different one in my bag every day since my order arrived, and I've been loving them for casual days or glam nights.
Wearing: Kim (no liner). Apologies this a fairly cakey close-up!
Hope you guys enjoyed this little review of the KKW x Kylie Cosmetics collaboration. Let me know what products you'd like to see me review next!
