WHY GLAMGLOW MASKS ARE WORTH THE PRICE TAG

Now that I am a full-time commuter, my makeup goes on at 5AM and often doesn't come off until 9PM or 10PM. As a result, I've made an effort to really up my skincare routine, so that my skin doesn't look as tired as I feel.

I mask anywhere from 3-5 times a week, opting for different formulas and ingredients depending on my needs. Some days all I need is a fifteen-minute hydrating sheet mask, and others require some serious multi-masking, AKA applying different masks to different areas of the skin depending on what each needs (brightening on the cheeks, oil-eliminating on the T zone, moisturizing on the neck, etc.).

As an avid mask-er, I've tried products at all price points, from the $1 sheet masks that tempt you at checkout lines to products that cost more than my entire outfit on any given day. As long as the ingredients are effective, I'm a firm believer that you don't need to shell out a ton of cash for a great mask. That being said, I've been on a serious GlamGlow kick lately, and because they have such a wide variety of effective masks, I thought I'd make a case for why splurging on one or two might take your skincare routine to the next level.

At the moment, I'm indulging in three of my favorite GlamGlow masks on rotation, along with a few sample-sized versions of the rest to determine my next purchases. Right now, I have the GravityMud, PowerMud, and YouthMud in their full-size packages.

The YouthMud TingleExfoliate Treatment was the first Glamglow product I ever purchased, and it's also the most intense. The claim to be a 'TingleExfoliate Treatment' is spot on—occasionally, this product will 'tingle' to the point where I can't keep it on for the full ten minutes. This might seem like a bad thing, but describing the experience as 'painful' would be overdramatic. On the contrary, it's more so exciting, since feeling the mask really getting to work on my skin makes me feel like I'm doing something good by actively treating my face. I use this when I'm struggling with acne, or when my skin and pores feel dirty and clogged. This one is definitely a once-a-week at most product for me, but I love the results.

At first glance, I wasn't overly drawn to the PowerMud DualClense Treatment, which doesn't boast the crazy results of YouthMud or the Instagram-hype of GravityMud. However, this mask proved me wrong, and it's become one of my favorites to use multiple times a week to really clean my skin. Gentle but super effective, this is the perfect way to cleanse my face after a long commute. If you're looking for a starter mask or don't have one particular thing (acne, oiliness) that you want to focus your treatments on, this is a great mask for overall skin improvement.

If you've ever been on Instagram, chances are you've seen a celeb or two rocking the GravityMud Firming Treatment. This is my newest GlamGlow purchase, and I totally get the hype! This mask comes with a brush to apply it with—#fancy—and dries to the most amazing, alien-esque silver you've ever seen. They released a blue metallic version a while back as a promotional exclusive, and Youtube gurus like Jeffree Star were obsessed with the results. Every time I peel this from my skin (so satisfying), I feel like a new person. The product boasts a more firm finish, and I can't exactly say I notice a major difference in firmness, but the peel-off experience and overall great complexion I'm left with make this a favorite for me in the "treat yo self" category of skincare.

Other masks that I've tried and consistently loved from GlamGlow? I find SuperMud is incredible for healing breakouts, and I've never made it through a sunburn without slathering on some ThirstyMud, which is incomparably hydrating. While all of these incredible masks work wonders for me, I seriously recommend browsing the GlamGlow site and picking your mask according to what areas you're most interested in targeting. Picking up the travel-sized options is another great way to test each mask and find what works best.

One thing I wanted to add in now that I've completely sold you on GlamGlow masks: amazing drugstore options DO exist! I couldn't write a mask-related post without shouting out my perfectly-priced favorite, the Loreal Pure-Clay Face Masks!

I tried out the Exfoliate & Refine mask on a whim one day, and was absolutely floored by how effective it was. It reminded me a lot of GlamGlow's YouthMud, only with amazing Red Algae doing all the work. From there, I tested out the Detox & Brighten mask, and was totally hooked! I'm hoping to add the entire collection to my skincare collection soon, including the cleanser versions! Let me know if yo guys would be interested in seeing a roundup similar to this one on these drugstore hidden treasures.

Hope you guys enjoyed this little peek into my skincare routine! What face masks do you love to use?
