You know how my last post featured a minidress from Zara for warmer weather? Well this post has yet another Zara dress in the mix, but it's totally different, and the look is all fall—think floaty instead of tight, and tons of Adele vibes. I took a cue from both NYFW street style and one of the singer's older music videos to pull together this comfy look for a day of shopping in the city.
This look revolves around this stunning floral, flowy midi dress from Zara. I've been looking for one for a while, and this was the first to check all of my boxes. I wanted long and dark,a bold floral print, a ruched middle, and some sheerness (built-in slip, of course!). At $89, this was a bit of a splurge for Zara, but I'd been hunting for so long to get the perfect piece for this look, so I was happy to splurge on a new fall staple.
I could totally see this dress being worn a million ways, from a leather jacket around the shoulders to belted with a faux-fur vest to a more casual look with some sneakers swapped in for the boots. Speaking of, these are still my old Zara go-tos from last year, looking quite beat up, but I'm happy to say I've replaced them with these almost exact dupes from Steve Madden, which will make an appearance as soon as I'm brave enough to break them in.
I decided to break up the print of the dress with this Gucci belt (linked in silver because I can no longer find the gold), and the strap of my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB tote. This bag is my go-to when I want something bigger than a standard cross body, but smaller than a tote or full purse. Plus, it's on sale right now!
Not only did this outfit look great for some blog shots, but it also made for a cool contrast against a little confetti with my BFF!
Coming soon: a way to take this dress from day to night in a New York minute. Stay tuned!
