MODERN MONOGRAM

If you've known me for a while, you know that I had quite a thing for monograms my freshman year. Marley Lilly was my jam, and I had new monogrammed trinkets every few months - bows, scarves, phone cases, you name it. Tragic, I know.

Above all else, the most coveted monogrammed item I could get my hands on was the necklace. I dipped my toes in the water with cheaper pendant options, then gradually treated myself to the classic 3-initial gold cursive charm and even a funky 2-initial block version.

Until I found my latest buy, this 2-inital monogram was my daily go-to.

I'm not ashamed of my monogrammed past (read: I was never that girl wearing multiple monograms at once, shudder), but like most trends, I got over it pretty fast. Still, something about the personalization aspect stuck, and to this day I'm still a fan of rocking my name as an accessory.

As of late, I've been on the hunt for something new to quench my personalization craving. Fortunately, I found my answer right here on M Street, in Anthropologie's accessory section, in the form of a dainty brass B.

My favorite way to style my B is with a simple single pearl, sort of like this one. (Peep this sweater here.)

Prior to this new addition, the only single-initial necklace I've ever owned was the adorable but discontinued C Wonder pendant. However, this Anthropologie piece is a much bigger statement - they've somehow managed to take a monogram and make it look, well, edgy. The oversized brass initial perfectly contrasts the delicate chain it balances on, and it's easily the freshest take on a monogram I've seen in the past few years.

Since my full name is Isabella but I go by Bella, my monogram allows for some options.

The C Wonder necklace above was my perfect I. The Anthro piece is my long-awaited perfect B! (Similar vest here.)

In a nutshell, I'm obsessed. I can't wait to style this pendant all throughout autumn, be it alone as a statement, accenting a thick choker, or layered amongst other thin, gold necklaces. When a company creates a piece that looks amazing and comes at such a low price point, I'm totally sold.

Since I started rocking my B, I've convinced 3 friends to buy their own. Here's hoping I continue to find more amazing bargains in 2017! XO
