LONG WEEKENDS

Even though I've been in the city for a while now, I haven't really taken advantage of all the cute streets around my apartment. It's crazy easy to whip out my camera and take a great street style shot with little to no work, so expect a few more daily OOTDs like this than usual. Shout out to my roommate Paige for helping with these shots!

So this was a super casual day, hitting up museums and an antique book fair. The weather was crazy warm, so I knew dressing in layers would be the move. To accessorize, I used some old favorites, plus an iced coffee and a brie baguette. Life is good.

Lately whenever I'm rocking all black, I try to make two adjustments: the first, I'd like at least one black piece to have an interesting texture or shape, and the second, I'd like either a colorful or print accessory. My sweater by John & Jenn has tiered ruffle sleeves that definitely check off the interesting shape box for me. Ruffled sleeves are so in and selling absolutely everywhere this year, and I definitely rock this one at least once a week to work or on the go.

Unfortunately, my leopard print jacket from Vigoss is sold out, but there are tons of similar styles here and here. The longer length and lightweight feel makes this the perfect jacket for me on warmer days, and the boxy cut is wide enough that my ruffled sleeves slid right in without feeling stuffed. I used to think a leopard print would look a little too "Jersey Shore" on me—also the reason I can't get myself on the hoops trend!—but the black base and muted tones on this piece make it totally wearable.

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB, no longer made. I'm thinking of picking up this RM piece so I can stop torturing you guys with this old one! Sunnies are old F21, similar here.

Sooo let me take a moment to gush about my cute new boots. Taryn Rose creates shoes known for comfort and style combined, and these calf hair Cassidy boots have seriously stolen my heart. I'd been searching for the perfect pair of spring-ready transition boots for a while, so when I was gifted these by the TR team I was totally floored, and I knew I'd be wearing them this weekend and for many to come. This look is fairly wintery, but I can't wait to style these with boyfriend jeans and flows, boho vibes as the weather warms up! I would have never splurged on a fun color like this for myself, but now that I have it I love the contrast compared to all the black boots I already own!

Hope you guys enjoyed this quick and easy OOTD as much as I enjoyed the coffee and sandwich I was waiting to eat while taking it!
